dying white quilts

This little quilt I originally intended to make for the artquilts around the world group. But because I wanted to quilt it by hand I could not finish it in time. The theme was when land and sea meet, and I made the houses on land. Sometimes when see and land meet there are floods, so I threw it in a blue dyebath.

Dit quiltje is onderdeel van mijn serie witte quiltjes die ik verf. Het is de tweede die ik heb gemaakt. Het is gemaakt naar aanleiding van een thema van de artquiltsaroundtheworld groep.

Encaustic

Last week I went to a 3day workshop about encaustic taught by Daniella Woolf. It was very inspirational, I learned a lot and had a great time. I will try to mix this with my quilting art some day, or maybe it will be something else? Also see Ina's blog for more pictures!

poppys

This little quilt I made for Art quilts around the world.
I had done something like this before. (see here)
This time I made it a bit larger and three poppy's instead of one. The silk got its color from a dye bath as I am doing a lot of fabricdying (it is great to see how different fabrics react in the same bath). The stitching was done again with brown thread.
Size is almost 12 inch by close to 15 inch.
